Carolina's Not Done: Eric Washington Named Defensive Line Coach

After the earlier news today of Fred Graves' hiring at the wide receiver coach slot, the Carolina Panthers have struck again, hiring Eric Washington to be defensive line coach. Washington comes from the same position with the Chicago Bears, where he helped lead Israel Idonije, Julius Peppers, and the Bears' defense to a top-ten ranking this past season.

Carolina Panthers Head Coach, Ron Rivera, had this to say about Washington:

"Eric brings youth and experience to our staff and is a good fit to work with our young defensive line. He has coached on all levels of football and we are pleased to have him on our staff."
Washington is 41 years old and continues with the trend of younger coaches in Carolina, as the Panthers look to rebound from a disastrous 2-14 campaign.
